La Sportiva Cobra Climbing Shoe
The La Sportiva Cobra climbing shoe is a highly sensitive downturned slipper designed for gym and bouldering performance with the comfort of an unlined shoe. Looking at the Cobra, it's a really good value climbing shoe with no unnecessary technical features and just the fundamentalist design. A great shoe for gym boulderers in need of a highly flexible and soft shoe that isn't too uncomfortable or painful.
The Cobra uses the softer Vibram XS Grip 2 compound designed for maximum friction, and the sole is only 3.5mm thick. This high level of grip and sensitivity will perform extremely well on steep and overhanging routes with microholds, and the absence of laces and technical features should make the shoe incredibly supple. Although, this shoe is still meant to be really comfortable. One reviewer said that he wore it whilst multipitch climbing!
Being a slipper, the Cobra should be fitted on the snug side. But bear in mind that the unlined suede leather will stretch up to a full size! So remember to size appropriately, and don't be worried by the break-in period. It will be worth it!

Just bought these shoes, was a bit nervous about the fit not having tried them on, but they fit beautifully! They’re very comfy, give you great grip and are good for edging too. Also the colour is amazing (orange and black)!
Super comfy shoe, but as good as a high performance shoe.
Got super confident with standing on everything from small pebbles to shallow pockets. Haven’t tried them that much for smearing, probably would be OK for that also.
A friend turned me on to these. They're awesome gym shoes or soft all-around training shoes for anything other than redpoints. I find they fit like a miura but obviously far more sensitive. They stretch to become crazy comfortable so I size down a half size from my miura size but suck onto my feet so I even feel pretty confident cranking into a heel hook.
Great shoes! Very comfortable climbing shoes with a great fit. These are the first shoes for adults for my daughter (10 years old) and the best in her opinion. They fit the leg comfortably, especially the heel, precise on the rocks. It is easy and pleasant to climb in them all day. My daughter feels like a real cobra on the rocks. Recommended!
Technical shoes with a precise point. even when big, they allow good foot placement. Though they arenot made for slab climbing so do not expect adherence from them. tiny edge or micro pockets: that's their job.
quick to take on and off, they offer good value for the intermediate climber.
